Here the outsole is firmly connected to the upper and is not just sewn or glued on. Other surprising materials are used, including the bio-based foam for the upholstery. This is located directly under the insole, recognizable by the green color. It looks very similar to conventional plastic foam - but it is made almost exclusively from biological raw materials that are obtained from the processing of sugar cane. This is not only resource-saving, but also binds the CO2 that is contained in the plant residues.
